Things that you know. There aren’t a lot of things you can really know in this world. But because of what God tells us in His eternal word, there are some things we can know for sure. And you can build your life on these facts.
Today I’d like to talk about, you can know that your Redeemer lives. I get that free from the book of Job in the Old Testament. Many of you know Job is a great example of a man who went through a lot, he suffered great loss. But in the midst of all that he was suffering, listen to what he said in Job chapter 19, verse 25, for I know that my Redeemer lives and that the last he will stand upon the earth. The confidence that he had, that he was serving a living God is what enabled him to endure all of the loss, all of the pain, all of the suffering.
And I want to remind you today that we even have a greater assurance of our living Savior, our living Redeemer, Jesus Christ because he came to earth he lived, he rose again, that’s the very heart of the gospel.
So the Bible tells us in Hebrews chapter seven, verse 25, consequently, he is able to save to the uttermost, those who draw near to God through him, since he always lives to make intercession for them.
Our Redeemer lives. Not only do we know that he is living, he is very much aware of what is going on in each of our lines. And you know what he’s doing today for you and for me, he is making intercession.
If you feel you can’t make it on your own strength. You’re right. But you don’t have to, because the one who lives is making intercession for you. He says himself in Revelation, chapter one, starting with verse 17, and some of his last one spoken. When I saw him, John writes, I fell at his feet as though dead. But he laid his right hand on me saying, fear not. I am the first and the last, and the living one, I died, and behold, I am alive evermore. And I have the keys of death and Hades. Our Redeemer lives.
God wants you to have that assurance. take that with you throughout every day. And remember, he is your living Savior and he’s living for you.
