Well, I do hope you’ve been given some serious consideration to joining my biblical 4H club, because God wants us to be a humble people, a holy people, and God wants us to be a happy people, and today, hot.
Now, I don’t mean by that, we need to live in a hot climate. But I mean that God wants us to be on fire for him. He wants us to be zealous. You may remember this when the Lord spoke to the church and Laodicea he said this in the book of Revelation, chapter three, verse 15, I know your works, you are neither cold or hot wood that you were either cold or hot. So because you are lukewarm and neither hot nor cold, I will spit you out of my mouth.
Clearly, the Lord makes it known here that he does not like lukewarmness. Now, what does that mean? Does he want us to be cold or hot? No, he really wants us to be hot. And I know that because he says this in Revelation, chapter three, verse 19, still writing to the church and Laodicea, those whom I love, I reprove, and discipline. So be zealous and repent.
So the idea is this. If you’re cold, at least people know where you stand. But what God really wants us to do is to have a fervent desire to do His will, to serve him in a way that is enthusiastic, that is committed, that is sold out for the cause of Jesus.
And so I want to encourage you today to be a hot Christian. I believe that we should have zealous worship for God. When we get together again, and hopefully that’ll be soon we should be worshiping God like we never have before with a zeal, to be on fire to serve God.
And then witnessing we should be zealous to tell others about Jesus to share the love of Jesus so they can know his love and experience His deliverance and receive his gift of eternal life.
We should be zealous in works. Whatever we do for the Lord, as we serve the Lord in whatever ministry in whatever capacity, let’s do it with zeal.
God wants us to be a holy people. God wants us to be a humble people. God wants us to be a happy people. And God wants us to be hot. Join the club today.
